WHAY ALWAYS MURRAY LOST
WOT NO MURRAY!
So who is the most under rated tennis player in the world today? and who is the biggest under achiever at major tournaments, i am kinda thinking becker or aggassi, thinking back what great players we had back then a wealth in depth, you just never really knew who was going to win, i feel tennis will loose someone very special when feds retires.
It seems to me that Andy's game has got worse and worse since Lendl came on the scene. His self-belief seems totally eroded.
I don´t like Murray but I´m really sorry that he lost.. but not because of him, but because of Lendl!! Iceman rocks!!!
@ KARL: Your comment is an insult to all players at Queens.
Andy plays some of his best tennis at Queens he says.. good work! A bye in the first round and bye in the second!
@ Pauline Smith: Have to agree with your post. Something is amiss. I know the hate-brigade will have their fun but seriously, he WAS playing much better this time last year. Lendl was a good player in his time - but maybe his old-fashioned style is not right for the current game? He fared better under different coaches or even on his own! Since taking Lendl on, all we've seen is a slightly better forehand - but a rather subdued approach. A lot of people criticised Andy for his outbursts, but it's as though he is not able to fire himself when he's restricting his emotions this much. Back to the drawing-board.....
i play tennis and with all due respect to get fire in your heart dosent mean throwing a racket for 1...nor does it mean trying to get points replayed after clearly not having a chance but oops because i stood on the linemans toe HE BELIEVES HE SHOULD AV THAT REPLAYED he doesnt care about you so get ure tongue out of his haggis...do you remember the french last year wen the kid run on the court wen his oppanant had a smash at the net and the crowd berrated the kid to the point he nearly cried did murray care one bit about him,,,instead no he was like were playin that point again...he could of stopped that kid gettin a blasting,,,he clearly was gunna lose the point...but noooo not ure sporting andy murray
First of all, purely in the interest of rising above all those who will have a field day at Murray's expense, well done to Mahut for playing well. I'm sick to the back teeth of all the references to the Mahut/Isner match from two years ago, but credit where it is due, he did deserve the win today. As for Murray, I don't know, he never seemed to get up for it today. To me he looked flat almost throughout, which is unlike him. People go on and on about Murray berating himself in matches, but I can't help thinking that he is a player who needs a bit of that to fire him up. I do think he needs to get a grip on the tendency to self-commentate (although he does it a whole lot better than some who are paid to do it), because it can become a negative thing for him, but I just think he needs a bit of fire in him, and it wasn't there today. I also wonder about how fit Murray is, and I mean no disrespect to Mahut when I say that. At no point did Andy touch his back, in fact I thought he was trying not to, but I just wonder if all is not quite as it should be. It's funny, had Murray won Queen's the Murray bashers would say it is a 'small' tournament, so insignificant. Now he is out they'll say Queen's is highly important. The amount of commentary we will now get from 'experts' about Murray's preparation for Wimbledon being in 'ruins' or 'tatters' is about to get very boring.
murray's out! ...thank you God
have to say mahut is a excellent grass court player his favorite surface!
Poor Andy is getting TOO OLD TO WIN A MAJOR....At 25 ...same age as Andy, Borg Retired and McEnroe Won HIS LAST GRAND SLAM
Well done to Mahut. He is an under-rated player and deserved to win today. No doubt the Murray-bashing brigade will have a field-day - as they really have nothing else to do.
have to say theres a lot in murrays entourage at queens! i mean the coach fair enough! hes a good player but not in the class of nadal federer and novak but hey you never know in the big tournaments.
Gosh people are predictable. Murray has won Queen's twice in the last three years. No one is going to tell me that each time he has just been lucky and been the best of a bad lot. How insulting to Murray and everyone else. Mind you, it is the time of year when Murray bashing, from the press, the public and even people in the sport becomes a national pastime, all because he isn't a Home Counties posh kid. but a fine tennis player who wants to be the best he can be. My only question is why Rob Curling chose to bring attention to Tommy Haas's silly remarks about Murray's back injury at the French at the beginning of the broadcast this afternoon. I'm sure Haas having a go has got Murray quaking in his trainers.......not.
The weak field is down to the governments tax rules.. remember at this time last year, nadal was saying it costs more to come and play at Queens (paying so much in tax) than he can make, even if he wins the tournament... The players are not that bad though.... "Andy Murray (4), Tsonga (5), Janko Tipsarevic (8), Juan Martin Del Potro (9), Mardy Fish (11), Gilles Simon (12) all entered. Another four-time champion, Andy Roddick, will also be part of the line-up." Its not Andy Murrays fault that nadal and federer have gone elsewhere(halle).. that said.. where is djokovic playing....
Very poor quality of players in this event copared to the golden years. They should be questioning why the topplaters are in Halle is it because the over hype of Murreyis boring them to death.
@ Karl: I'm still waiting for you to say anything of significance. What an insult to other players as well as Murray.
Good luck Andy!
