Cobblestone refers to the road. Think if it as uneven bricks instead of a flat paved surface. Gaps in the stone and uneven from one to the next make it very rough on the riders with the chance of the wheels getting stuck in a grove and the riders contstantly going up and down in the saddle on the uneven stones. There tend to be alot of crashes on cobblestone and if a rider gets stuck behind a massive crash, he could lose quite a bit of time.
what is cobblestone? sorry i am new to cycling
