ALAN, DREAM ON, the world is multi cultural now, all nationalities live in london. Imagine the premier league without Cantona, Ronaldo, ZOLA, flipping steve Lomas and carlton Palmer. Come on E N G E R L A N D
Lets have English players playing in the Premier League. Foreign players should play for their own leagues.How can we gain and english team if we are buying abroad and they then go and play against us International football is joke as many of these people actually play inthe U.K.
So then, EPL = England or English players.... not so I'm afraid.... the players he refers to are mainly from other nations and simply playing in the EPL. Like his general analysis otherwise, but England still not good enough by a long way to be considered championship material.
England (management, players, media) always think & talk as if winning every competition is the team's divine rightand always feel sorry for themselves after the usual exit at the quarter final stage. The EPL is the best league in the world and on the face of it should produce the best international team in the world but it belies the comparatively low number of truly gifted English players playing in it. Face it lads, Italy are going to win this one; pack your bags and get the violins & the Kleenex out again.
Really good analysis
benitez talks about the passing on the floor in the prem but they are almost all none english players so dont have much relevance to the national team. we cant pass the ball at international level. with all the great managers we have had we have failed to retain the ball,that is were we are going wrong. every other team in the euros can string more passes together than us. we will not win anything until we address this problem
Benitez = Legend
Notice how much better Alonso and Abeloa and several others are playing now that they are away from Benitez.
Benitez does talk a lot of sense here, he puts the guy in his place about English football doesn't he!! Hodgson is three months into the job and has at least got England organised!! OK it isn't pretty to watch but it has got the job done so far, will they progress?? I think they are capable of beating Italy but it will be a tough game for them, can they win it?? Don't know about that, hate to say it but the Germans are very good indeed as are Spain, I think a Germany Spain final is the most likely outcome with Germany winning by the odd goal but you just never know!!
I like Benitez, he talks quite a lot of sense. Good for him for sticking up for the EPL too, confirming to the rest of Europe that we do play good possession football. In the Euro's we are taking a more defensive approach, but I like this, at least we have a winning gameplan, no matter how boring it may be.
Oi, Manuel ! Get me a G&T.
