  2. @ # 11 Stalins Ghost "Beckham for England manager!!" ???????? ha ha ha ha...... England will definitely improve their penalty taking skills now.

From Woodat, on Tue 26 Jun 21:39
  3. @ eduardo it's not only you, Yahoo deleted comments I made about the Spaniards too, LOL That's why I now call the Spanish 'lovely people', LOL They are lovely, honest. ---- They just don't know it yet. he he he he

From Woodat, on Tue 26 Jun 21:37
  4. TAKE HEART, FRIENDS ------- The world cup 2014 is just around the corner and the qualification matches will start soon ------- No younger well motivated players NOW and England will do just as 'well' for 2014

From Woodat, on Tue 26 Jun 21:35
  5. @ Caledonian Cueless, huh. I'll give yoiu 'clueless'. For your info, with Rooney on the pitch the goal keeper will have to be part of that 4-3-4-3 thing, LOL 1-2-3, my friend. That's where we're still at. We've got THE manager (he's proved it) and we've got a good proportion of the squad as good YOUNG and MOTIVATED players (eg Carroll). All we now is to get rid of 'pedestrians' like Rooney. Exception = John Terry who has saved England from defeat several times

From Woodat, on Tue 26 Jun 21:33
  6. Who the manager is, is totally irrelevant as the national side simply doesn't have what it takes to overcome the real opposition. This shows repeatedly as the last 8 is always the best they can achieve in recent times.

  9. #9 Winifred, Wot Beckham for England manager!!

From Stalins Ghost, on Tue 26 Jun 17:41
  10. Winifred calling for Beckham, can she tell me how many world cups has he brought back. Get real

From Bill, on Tue 26 Jun 16:30
  11. David Beckham is the obvious choice. A man who knows the game from every possible angle. Talk about been there, done that. David has done it all and with dignity, professionalism and so much experience. The players would respect him for his achievments and experience and he would also bring in some young players who are full of enthusiasm and know that they have to fight to play and play to win. He's the obvious man for the task.

From Winifred, on Tue 26 Jun 15:20
  12. Wrong tactics and players who generally are not up to international standards.Only getting into the last eight in Europe what does that say for our for our chances in the next world cup O.K.France and Holland went out before us but they will rebuild and reorganise their teams.Does the FA have anyone who has the ability and guts to go back to square one and sort out some tactics other than all out defence and coach the selected players accordingly. Hodgson has not had enough time yet to sort out the poor team he inherited so lets see what he can produce over the next couple of years. One final thought, why bring on Carrol and have him making tackles on the edge of his own penalty area.

From John Dawson, on Tue 26 Jun 11:55
  13. Steve W got it almost right for me,except i think he was too harsh on Rooney. But that's the point about football fans-we all have our own ideas and we all see games differently. We have to leave the big decisions to the managers who after all know everything there is to know about their players, team sprit,attitudes,fitness-the whole nine yards. Suffice it for me to say that i had no great expectations of England success and willingly admit I believe the last 4 are the best last 4. It will be a treat for me to watch matches objectively rather than emotionally and I'm akready looking forward to next season and the sort of competitive football our league offers up.Technically good though it be,I do not want to watch the pretty pictures painted by Spain or the defensive knots tied by the Italians. I want to see exciting football played at speed and to be entertained. That's why-unashamedly-i've been a United fan since 1938.Fast exciting football played by intelligent committed players which has brought United at least as much success as any club in history.Long may it continue-can't wait to see who Fergie buys in the next few weeks-I'll settle for a Van Nist or Tommy Taylor-type no 9 and a Bryan Robson/Roy Keane -type skipper and midfielder.

  14. woodat / your as clueless as the england team , a 4-4-3 formation . take that would mean no goal keeper then .

    From , on Tue 26 Jun 10:13
  15. We need the players before we consider 4-4-3's Lampard and Ferdinand are gone. That was only half the job done. Keep Gerrard and get rid of Rooney. ---- Offer Rooney for sale to Barnet FC. That's the only thing Rooney is good for, LOL

From Woodat, on Tue 26 Jun 9:22
  16. For God's sake let's forget about 4-4-2 and 3-4-3...... We need 1-2-3 and go back to basics.... Get rid of OLD past it unmotivated players like Rooney. I wish Rooney had been banned for 20 matches and not just 2 and some other younger and motivated player took his place.

From Woodat, on Tue 26 Jun 9:18
  17. GET RID OF ROONEY or pay Mario Balotelli to floor him next time they meet, LOL

From Woodat, on Tue 26 Jun 9:16
  18. No matter who pulls on the three lions unless we win a trophy they will all be slated as failures. No one gave us a chance of qualyfing from the group let alone the knockout stages. It may not have been pretty, and some of the players taken did not deserve to be there. However, with the time he had to prepare I think Hodgson and the team did us proud. My only concern was the desparation shown giving rooney his opportunity. Carroll and Wellbeck proved a potent strike force against Sweden. Rooney looked lost and failed to make an impact. Lets hopr Roy keeps up with the promise of "bleeding in the youngsters" and forgets the 4-4-2. Its old and predictable and we got smashed in the midfield.I for one am excited about our future lets hope its not misguided.
