The trouble is it´s not sport any longer. The stakes are too high, and the players take anything that comes their way if it favours them. Other players would have acted the same way as Troikci and Murray, with the possible exception of Agassi in bygone days. The umpire had no choice but to apply the appropriate rule. The incident didn’t affect the result in this case, but it isn’t always so. The Henry hand ball incident was a little different in the sense that it broke the rules of the game. That did affect the result and it should have been turned over.
Vicktor Troicki had the rare opportunity to take the giant leap from being a good tennis player to becoming a true sportsman by consoling the young ballboy and telling him that everyone makes mistakes. Thierry Henry had an even greater chance to do this when he dumped the Irish out of the last World Cup by blatantly handling the ball twice before scoring. If he had held his hand up and told the ref, the French may have despaired of him for a short while but the world of football and beyond would have hailed him as a sporting hero.
Unfortunately Henry said nothing and dear old Troicki behaved like a big spoilt child. perhaps I am naive to expect anything else!
It didnt do Murray any favours either ,he lost that game .Troicki knows the rules,if hed been distracted and knocked the ball out the decision would have been the same .A atoem in a tea cup
Andy won because of himself. The ballboy made no difference! Even if Troicki won the point, it would have made no difference. GO ANDY!
you can do it Andy . JUST BELIEVE IN YOUR SELF JAMBO LEITH
Andy needs all the help & luck he can get if he's going to win a slam!
The poor lad (ballboy) was too quick off the mark & made an error which, in this instance, helped the Scot.
I don't think it necessarily changed the result of the match however!
But bad luck for Troicki all the same - but that's how it goes.
Andy Murray won bcos he´s the better player, the ballboy mistake could go either ways!!!
Good play Andy and congratulations...
So Andy Murray won because of the ballboys mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
