Striker Robbie Findley is the main cause for concern as Nottingham Forest travel to Ipswich.
Findley was off after just six minutes of the 1-0 home defeat to Cardiff on New Year's Eve after damaging his shoulder in a fall.
The USA international has been hampered by shoulder problems since joining the Reds and manager Steve Cotterill fears he may have to undergo surgery in the summer. However, he has not given up hope of having the 26-year-old available in Suffolk.
While Forest wait on Findley's fitness, Cotterill knows he will once again have to shuffle his defence after Joel Lynch collected his fifth yellow card of the season against Cardiff.
His one-match suspension is almost certain to see midfielder Guy Moussi drop back into a central defensive role alongside captain Luke Chambers. Midfielder Paul Anderson (hamstring) and striker Dexter Blackstock (calf) remain doubts.
Forest finished 2011 by failing to score in the last seven Championship matches. Former Red Marlon Harewood has rejoined on a four-month contract after a spell in China but the club are unlikely to receive international clearance in time for the striker to feature in this game.
