Second rest day at Quiksilver Pro
A second consecutive lay day has been called at the Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro Gold surfing events on the Gold Coast.
Strong onshore winds and marginal swell forced tournament organisers to cancel competition for the day.
Surfing fans at Snapper Rocks in Queensland, Australia had enjoyed four days of thrilling action prior to yesterday's first lay day.
"Small swell and bad winds again today so we’ve called another lay day for competition," ASP international head judge Rich Porta said.
"We’re tracking the wind direction to begin changing tomorrow and hold through the weekend as well as some swell to fill in.
"We’ll be back tomorrow morning to reassess conditions and make a call then."
