Dutch striker Bas Dost, a reported target of Premier League new boys West Ham, has joined Wolfsburg.

The 23-year-old, the Eredivisie's top scorer with 32 goals for Heerenveen last season, was linked with a £7 million switch to Upton Park.

However, Dost has opted to move to German side Wolfsburg where he has signed a five-year contract.

"Bas has in the last few years taken a great development," head coach Felix Magath told the club's website.

"He is eminently prepared to take risks, a strong penalty box player who knows where the opponent's goal is."

  2. Don't blame the boy - it was never a serious offer anyway. Why move to West Ham a dying club about to leave it's ancestral home Upton Park ? West Ham under the present management are going no where but down. Asset stripping is the name of this game - first Upton Park then Green, Tomkins, Noble, Reid and anyone else worth any money
