Serie A - Pjanic, Gago, Kjaer join Roma
Pjanic, 21, has already made a big name for himself in Ligue 1 and has won 26 caps for his national team having made his debut at just 18.
Numerous clubs were linked with a move for the youngster, including Lazio and Tottenham, but it is big-spending Roma who have won the race for his signature.
He has been joined at the club by Real Madrid midfielder Gago, as new coach Luis Enrique continues a major overhaul of the squad with the capture of the Argentinan international midfielder on a one-year loan deal.
Gago, who had been linked with Manchester City, joined Madrid from Boca Juniors in January 2007 but has failed to make an impression under Jose Mourinho.
The Spanish coach has already brought in Bojan Krkic from Barcelona, Dutch goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg from Ajax, striker Pablo Osvaldo from Espanyol and earlier today, Simon Kjaer on loan from Wolfsburg.
The Danish centre-back has returned to Italy just one year after leaving Palermo.
The 22-year-old was courted by several of Europe's top clubs before joining Wolfsburg last summer.
However, he failed to justify his reputation as the 2008-09 Bundesliga champions languished near the bottom of the table for much of last season.
Roma also secured a late deal for Parma striker Fabio Borini. He only joined Parma from Chelsea over the summer but moves to Roma on loan for the season and could complete a permanent 9m euro move in 12 months.
