Premier League - Newcastle's cheeky mascot

Kevin Nolan scored the first hat-trick of his career in a 5-1 demolition of Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby - yet the Newcastle United captain had his thunder stolen by an eight-year-old mascot.

Miss a Match? We didn't

Newcastle's cheeky mascot

Cheeky Jack McBride stole the show before kick-off at St James' Park with a consummate display of Geordie showmanship.

The youngster waved to TV cameras as he led Nolan out of the tunnel, then proceeded to slot a nerveless penalty kick.

The spot-kick featured a celebration before AND afterwards, as Jack danced with his shirt over his head, then aimed a heart gesture at fans who cheered his successful penalty.

He finished off by proudly holding a ball with 'NUFC' written on it while the teams lined up.

All in all, he made quite an impression, and still had time for a quick playfight with a friend in the crowd during the game.

It was a great day all round for Jack, whose beloved Toon romped to their biggest win against their local rivals since 1956.
