Thom Evans' hopes of a comeback have been thrown into doubt by Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen.

RUGBY Scotland win Thom Evans is carried from the field during the Six Nations match against Wales at Murrayfield, Evans, 24, is suspected to have suffered a serious back injury - 0

Scotland and Warriors wing Evans last month insisted he would return to playing at some point next season, despite suffering an injury which could have killed him during the Six Nations.

However, club boss Lineen hinted that may not be the case when he listed the players he expects to lose this summer, telling Scotland on Sunday: "Tim Barker is going back to Ulster, Dan Parks (to Cardiff), Mark McMillan (to Bath) is a loss, Kelly Brown (to Saracens), Dan Turner - who is going to Japan - and probably Thom Evans."

Max Evans revealed back in February that his brother was "a millimetre" from death or paralysis following a sickening collision with full-back Lee Byrne during February's Six Nations game in Wales.

Max also expressed his preference that his brother hang up his boots.
