Internazionale chairman Massimo Moratti says he will make money available for boss Rafa Benitez when the January transfer window opens.

The Nerazzurri, winners of a treble under Jose Mourinho last season, have stuttered with much the same personnel under Benitez this campaign.

“Our projects, purchases or absence of purchases will have nothing to do with the Club World Cup," Moratti said. "I still think this is a great team, but we’ll see what we can do in January.

"I will talk to the manager and we’ll decide together.

"We won’t be plugging holes that we don’t actually see, but we will add anything we need to build our future project.”

Moratti continued to give his backing to under-fire Benitez, and has hinted that victory in the upcoming Club World Cup would see his stock rise significantly.

"I think this is a great team," Moratti repeated, "but we can do the groundwork for our future project. As to Benitez's rating if he wins the Club World Cup: I had given him 6.5 and I’d increase that by three and a half points.”
