Bayern Munich sporting director Christian Nerlinger claims the squad has "no weaknesses" yet has vowed to continue looking at new prospective players for the squad.

Bayern finished third in the Bundesliga last season - a full 10 points behind champions Borussia Dortmund.

But Nerlinger and new coach Jupp Heynckes have acted swiftly to bring several new faces to the Allianz Arena.

Manuel Neuer has signed from Schalke, Rafinha has arrived from Genoa, and youngsters Nils Petersen and Takashi Usami have also been snapped up.

He told the Bild newspaper: "We have taken a big step forward. We have a team that is very balanced.

"I can find no weak points in the team and we have not yet completed our planning.

"Neuer embodies class, as a character as well as a player. And in Rafinha we have a right full-back with high technical qualities to drive us forward."

Nerlinger appears to have made his statements seeking to prevent the club being held to ransom over high-profile targets Jerome Boateng and Arturo Vidal.

"The position is unchanged," he said. "Manchester City and Leverkusen have stated their positions.

"The players want to come but not at any price.

"We are not willing to pay transfer fees that are devoid of reality. Therefore we are looking for alternatives."
