The Englishman extended his lead despite a mediocre one-under-par 71 after closest challenger Ross Fisher lost three shots to Westwood over the last five holes.

Fisher missed a birdie putt on the final green to card a 73, leaving him tied for second place alongside local hope Tim Clark.

Spanish Ryder Cup hero Miguel Angel Jimenez is one shot further back on his own in fourth place after scrambling his way to a 71 despite an error-strewn afternoon at the Gary Player Country Club.
