British 21-year-old Andrew Fenn backed up his Trofeo Palma win by triumphing in the Trofeo Migjorn in Mallorca just 24 hours later.

The Trofeo Migjorn, held on more of a transitional, rolling course, represented a different challenge for Fenn, but the Omega Pharma-Quick Step rider was no less impressive in taking the line first once again in a mass sprint.

"It is a bit of a surprise as a neo to get this first win," Fenn explained to Cycling Weekly. "I felt a little like I had to win to prove to [the team] I was capable of it. If they rode so well and I didn't win then next time they might be like, 'No, you haven't got it.' So it was important."

Fenn finished ahead of Alexander Porsev (Katusha) and Matteo Pelucchi (Europcar), who came in second and third respectively. Russian runner-up Porsev said afterwards: "In the final straight, I started my sprint a little bit far from the leader, who finally won: Fenn is in excellent shape, so I could not reach him.

"Instead I was at the same level of the other rivals, and with the help of my team I could beat all of them. I am very happy with my performance during these two days."
