Lincicome ends barren run
Brittany Lincicome won the ShopRite LPGA Classic in New Jersey by a stroke from Jiyai Shin and Cristie Kerr.
Lincicome made a four-foot birdie putt on the last to secure her first win since the 2009 Kraft Nasbisco.
She shot a five-under 66 for a 54-hole total of 202, 11-under on the Bay Course at Seaview, to overtake Kerr (69) and hold off Shin (66).
“It feels great,” 25-year-old Lincicome said after her fourth triumph on the LPGA Tour. “You don’t know if you’re ever going to win again or if you’ll ever have your time. So it feels fantastic.”
Kerr, who led Catriona Matthew by a stroke heading into the final round, left an 80-foot eagle putt that would have forced a play-off short.
Scotland's Matthew shot a 69 to finish in fourth, two strokes adrift, and one ahead of Anna Nordqvist and IK Kim who both closed with 66s.
World number one Yani Tseng of Chinese Taipei was seventh after a 65.
