The Tottenham-loanee struck just past the half hour mark to flick the ball past Olejnik and repeated the feat with an almost identical finish with 11 minutes remaining.
The three points mean Celtic narrow the gap at the top to 10 points as they keep alive their slender hopes of catching arch-rivals Rangers.Falkirk had twice held the Bhoys to draws in the SPL this season, and it was the Bairns' Vitor Lima who had the first real chance of the match with a shot that drifted wide of Artur Boruc's goal.
The Portuguese midfielder should then have tested Boruc with a side-footed volley from the edge of the box following Colin Healy's delivery, but it was Keane who came closest to opening the scoring after beating the offside trap, only to be denied by Robert Olejnik's foot.
Olejnik again thwarted Keane when the Irishman twisted into the box and unleashed a fierce drive, but the Celtic number seven broke through on 34 minutes.
Morten Rasmussen was impressive in his first SPL start for Celtic and when his incisive pass set Keane free in the box, the striker made no mistake as he flicked the ball beyond Olejnik.
Ryan Flynn almost drew Falkirk level with an overhead kick from a matter of yards, but Boruc somehow clawed the ball away and when Enoch Showunmi wasted the fruits of Scott Arfield's powerful run, Celtic held the advantage at the break.
Keane had a clear sight of goal in the second period when Rasmussen again played him in, only to be halted for an infringement against the Dane, while Darren Barr's dangerous ball into the box was cleared by Darren O'Dea with Showunmi waiting for the cut back.
Georgios Samaras was largely out of sorts, but came close with a shot that went beyond Olejnik's post, while at the other end, Lima again drove the ball over the bar from an excellent position.
Arfield then tested Boruc as a battling Falkirk looked to level, but the Bairns suffered a knockout blow two minutes later.
Brian McLean and Tam Scobie switched off as a ball over the top found Keane onside and he again beat Olejnik with a delicate finish to seal the victory
