The 2010 Giro d'Italia starts in Amsterdam on Saturday with an 8.4km individual time trial and ends in Verona on May 30 with a 15.3km individual time trial.
The 93rd edition of race will start on foreign soil for only the ninth time in its 101-year history, with the opening three stages being held in the Netherlands.
After a rest day on May 12th, the race will resume with a 32.5km team time trial in Piedmont, Northwest italy.
The Giro then heads southeast towards central Italy via Novara, Novi Ligure, Fidenze, and Carrara, before the dirt and gravel roads of Tuscany provide a real test.
Stage eight will provide the first mountain finish, ending with 16.1km climb up Monte Terminillo.
May 19th will see the longest stage of the 2010 Giro, with the riders covering 256km to reach L'Aquila and honour the victim's of 2009's devastating earthquake in Abruzzo's capital.
The 3,418km race will end in Verona, after a lung-busting final week of mountain stages through the Dolomites and Alps.
