Women's World Cup - German women thrash Dutch
Germany's women destroyed the Netherlands 5-0 in a World Cup warm-up match in Aachen.
Célia Okoyino da Mbabi opened the scoring after just 15 minutes with a superb striker into the far corner from just inside the box.
The Dutch looked set to be hanging on, however, but Simone Laudehr shook off her markers just before half time to curl a beautiful shot into the top corner from 20 yards.
Again the Dutch dug in and looked like keeping an outside chance of getting back into the match, but with 19 minutes left the floodgates opened after Kim Kulig's lovely ball set up Alexandra Popp to slot the ball home.
Four minutes later Kulig got onto the scoresheet herself after collecting the rebound from Bianca Schmidt's blocked effort and sidefooting home from six yards.
Veteran striker Inka Grings then popped up three minutes from time to add further emphasis to the scoreline with a free kick that found the gap in the wall and completed a memorable night for Germany's women.
