Premier League - Rennes eye Mavinga move
The 20-year old full back has been at Liverpool since 2009 but has failed to break into the first team.
The left-back, who is of Congolese descent, spent last season on loan at Belgian side Racing Genk where he made nine appearances.
With it looking increasingly unlikely that Mavinga will break into the first XI on Merseyside in the immediate future, it is now being reported that he is seeking a move away from Liverpool on a permanent basis.
Les Rouges et Noirs are looking to persuade the player into moving back to his homeland, with Dreossi confirming that the French Under-20 international is one of the players high on Rennes’ list.
He told L'Equipe: "Mavinga? He is a player we are following and we are interested in him. But it is too early to talk about it."
The Rennes coach has said that the club’s priority is to complete the signing of Hamburg striker Jonathan Pitroipa which is expected in the next couple of days.
He added: "We will first try to complete the arrival of Jonathan Pitroipa before we look at other options."
