If you hadn't been a football manager, what career would you have had instead?

A PE teacher.

What was your first car?

A Vauxhall Viva.

What is the greatest song ever recorded?

Oh, Diamond Lights! No, I'm joking... it's a tough question, there are so many, but I'll go for Hotel California by The Eagles.

What's your TV guilty pleasure?

I'm going to get some stick for this, but Strictly Come Dancing.

Who do you think is going to win?

Another tough one... Harry Judd.

If somebody made a film of your life, which actor would you like to play you?

Brad Pitt! He's done Moneyball, so football could be next.

Have you ever been mistaken for someone else who is also famous?

Andrew Strauss. My son gives me stick about it, he calls me Straussy!

What's the nicest place you've ever visited?

I would say Bermuda.

If you could throw a dinner party for any three people in history, dead or alive, who would they be?

Nelson Mandela, definitely. Lady Diana. And... Pele.

What would you cook for them?

Beans on toast! That's the only thing I can cook. Actually I'd give them a choice of beans on toast or pasta. I wonder if Pele's ever eaten beans on toast? Maybe when he was here for the '66 World Cup.

What is your favourite sport apart from football?

I love playing golf, and I used to play a lot of tennis. I probably watch more cricket than anything because my son plays it. I'd have to go for golf because I play it the most.

Crystal ball time – what do you think you will be doing in 2030?

I hope I'm still able to swing a golf club. Otherwise. hopefully I'll have some grandchildren and I'll be able to spend a lot of time with them.
