Tosatto still hungry for success
Veteran cyclist Matteo Tosatto has said he is eager to repay Saxo Bank SunGard's faith in him by helping the Danish team to honours in 2011.
The 36-year-old Italian, who is entering his 15th season on the Pro Tour, signed for Saxo Bank during the close season and was immediately impressed by what he saw on a summer training camp in Spain.
He believes the team spirit that was evident on the island of Fuerteventura will stand him and his colleagues in good stead during the upcoming season.
"I've tried many things in the international cycling world, but I am convinced that Saxo Bank SunGard is the best-organised crew I have experienced in my career," he said.
"The stay on Fuerteventura was not like other training sessions I've been on. The team spirit and openness of the riders who have been on the team for a long time was simply impressive.
"I cannot wait to put on the Saxo Bank SunGard jersey and repay the confidence that Bjarne (Riis, team boss) has shown in me by appointing me to the team.
"Naturally I hope to win and run some beautiful races, but the important thing is obviously the team, which certainly looks very good this
"If I can help some of my team-mates to win races, I'll be as happy as if I had won. I am just looking forward to the adventure beginning."
