Hill denied `goal' as Hoops lose

Ivan Klasnic struck four minutes from time to earn Bolton a priceless 2-1 win over fellow strugglers QPR but it was a controversial result after Clint Hill was denied a clear goal for the visitors in the first half.

Bobby Zamora had already hit the crossbar when defender Hill's header from a corner crossed the line before it was clawed out by Adam Bogdan in the 19th minute.

Referee Martin Atkinson waved play on and Bolton took the lead eight minutes before the break through Darren Pratley. The midfielder was left in acres of space to head in Tim Ream's cross.

Djibril Cisse equalised three minutes after half-time when he had all the time in the world to collect Shaun Wright-Phillips' deflected pass and poke the ball past Bogdan for his second Rangers goal.

But substitute Klasnic had the final say as Ryo Miyaichi played him in and he slotted his shot past Paddy Kenny to lift Bolton out of the relegation zone and ensure Rangers will end the day inside it.
