Baltacha, Watson given Eastbourne wildcards
British numbers one and two Elena Baltacha and Heather Watson have been given wildcards into the main draw at the AEGON International in Eastbourne.
Baltacha, world number 74, comes into the event off the back of a successful French Open in which she reached the second round.
"I'm delighted to have the chance to play at the AEGON International," she said.
"It's always nice to come back to a place where you've played well and there's nothing I love more than playing in front of a British crowd.
"This year's player field in Eastbourne is unbelievable and it's fantastic to be part of it. I can't wait to get started."
Watson, up to 93 in the world after also reaching the second round at Roland Garros, has a wildcard entry into the main draw at Wimbledon as her leap into the top 100 came after the cut-off point.
She said: "I am so looking forward to playing at the AEGON International in Eastbourne again this year and very grateful to have been given a main draw wildcard.
"I had a really great event there last year and I am looking forward to playing there again next week."
