Canada’s Christopher Del Bosco continued his red-hot form at the FIS freestyle skiing World Cup in Blue Mountain, romping to ski cross gold to delight a partisan home crowd on Friday.

The 28-year-old sealed his second World Cup victory of the season to close the gap on overall leader and Olympic silver medallist Andreas Matt of Austria.

Del Bosco made a slow start to the season as he recovered from knee surgery but he has been in unstoppable form of late, scooping World Championships gold in Deer Valley as well as back-to-back World Cups wins.

In Blue Mountain he proved too strong for Matt, who had to settle for silver while Tomas Kraus of the Czech Republic completed the podium in third place.

“The last couple of weeks have been pretty good for me," said Del Bosco.

"Last year, I had a bummer result here [11th], so I was looking forward to having a good one at home. There was a ton of support here and I had a bunch of family members out. It's just awesome."

Meanwhile, in the women’s event Germany's Anna Woerner captured gold, her first career win on the World Cup circuit.

She was followed home by Switzerland's Fanny Smith, Australia's Jenny Owens and Switzerland's Katrin Mueller.

The German's only other World Cup podium finish was a third place last month in St. Johann, Austria.
