La Liga - Racing grab sensational late win
Marcelino enjoyed his comeback as Racing Santander coach as his 10 men scored a sensational injury-time winner to beat Sevilla 3-2 in La Liga at El Sardinero.
Christian opened the scoring for the home side on 12 minutes before Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo saw a spot-kick saved by Tono, Christian having fouled Jesus Navas.
Racing's superb start continued soon after when Ivan Rakitic sliced a free-kick inside his near post.
Sevilla, hit on the break throughout, could not make anything of their greater possession but were handed a lifeline in the 38th minute, Christian going from hero to villain with a late challenge on Mouhamadou Dabo to earn a red card.
Rakitic delivered the free-kick superbly for giant defender Federico Fazio to head in at the near post.
Racing survived to half-time but had only one shot on goal for most of the second period as Sevilla laid an ineffective siege to their goal.
Negredo hit the post with a header before the Racing fans, who had packed in to see the return of the boss who led them to their best-ever finish of sixth and a UEFA Cup spot in 2008, were silenced by another penalty award - Kennedy Bakircioglu catching Diego Capel.
Fabiano equalised down the middle and Sevilla went in search of a winner.
However it was Racing who got it. A long ball down the left was chased by Manuel Arana and for some reason Sevilla keeper Andres Palop came flying out of his goal - and the midfielder lobbed him to spark wild scenes.
