Dave Jones said he "is not losing any sleep" as the npower League One's race for automatic promotion with city rivals Sheffield United enters the final straight.
Sheffield Wednesday have won seven and drawn two of the nine games played since Jones replaced Gary Megson as manager early last month, but still trail Danny Wilson's Blades, who occupy the second automatic promotion place, by two points with four games to go.
Jones said: "I can't do anything about [what they do]. I can have a look at their result, but I can't have any influence, except just to keep on doing what we're doing.
"So I'm not losing any sleep over it. I'm sure Danny isn't either. It's just about getting the players to concentrate on what we can do. I have no influence on what they do, so no, I'm not looking at them.
"I'm not praying for them to get beaten. If they're going to slip up, they will slip up. I'm not taking their training, I'm not speaking to their players, so you just get on with your job in hand.
"I haven't spoken to Danny since I came up here, I haven't had chance. Same for Danny no doubt. I'm good friends with him. It's not a problem. I'll bump into him somewhere along the line, but we've got our own jobs to do."
