Dutch goalkeeper Kuipers, who was with the Seagulls for 10 years until he joined Crawley in 2010, will finally get the chance to play at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday, August 7.
He said: "Having been with Albion as a player for virtually the entire time we were at Withdean, the dream for us all was to get the new stadium.
"I am proud to have been part of that journey to realise that dream, alongside the fans, and I am delighted to have the chance to play in front of the Albion fans at the Amex.
"I would like to thank the manager Gus Poyet. The game is an important part of the pre-season build-up so I am grateful that he is giving me the opportunity to play for the club again."
Kuipers made 287 appearances for Brighton and helped them seal promotions in 2001, 2002 and 2004.
