Former Wales captain Gareth Thomas is due to switch codes to rugby league, according to newspaper reports.
The Cardiff Blues back, who announced in December that he was gay, is reported in the Daily Telegraph to be close to signing for Welsh rugby league club Crusaders.
Thomas's contract with the Blues expires in May and reports suggest he could be just the high-profile signing the club need to raise their profile in their new home in north Wales.
Super League team Crusaders moved to Wrexham from Thomas's hometown Bridgend last autumn, and attracted a sell-out, five-figure crowd for their opening league game with Leeds three weeks ago.
British and Irish Lion Thomas has never played league before and his age may also prove an obstacle to the signing.
Thomas, who scored 40 tries during his 100-cap international career, has also been linked with a coaching role at Ospreys.
