Porto v Arsenal
Porto are able to play striker Hulk for the first time since December as the Gunners arrive in Portugal. The Brazilian is currently serving a six-month domestic ban for an incident in the tunnel in the match against Benfica, but that suspension does not apply to European competition. Striker Ernesto Farias has been out since for a month with a knee injury, while winger Cristain Rodriguez is also out. Porto boss Jesualdo Ferreira is hopeful that midfielder Ruben Michel will be fit after hurting his shoulder at the weekend.
Arsenal are without five first-team regulars for the Champions League trip to the Estadio do Drago. Defender William Gallas (back), midfielder Alex Song (knee) and Andrei Arshavin (hamstring) were all absent from the 18-man squad which left Luton Airport on Tuesday afternoon, as were goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and striker Eduardo (hamstring). Veteran former captain Sol Campbell could be set for a first European appearance for the Gunners since the 2006 Champions League final defeat by Barcelona in Paris, while forward Carlos Vela returns from a knee injury.
Bayern Munich v Fiorentina
Louis van Gaal's side are on a run of 12 straight wins in all competitions stretching back to November, and their good fortune continues with injuries. Striker Miroslav Klose, who has lost his place in the side to Croatia forward Ivica Olic, is Bayern's only doubt with an ankle injury.
Fiorentina have struggled in front of goal since the suspension of striker Adrian Mutu, who was provisionally suspended after the Italian Olympic Committee said he had tested positive for the appetite suppressant drug sibutramine after the 2-1 win over Bari on January 10, the team's last victory. La Viola suffered another blow on Saturday when centre-back Alessandro Gamberini dislocated his shoulder and was ruled out of the game at the Allianz arena while Argentina forward Mario Santana also limped off. Midfielder Cristiano Zanetti has been out since November with a knee injury.
