Ozil has already agreed terms with Real, but Bremen have rejected reported bids of €9 million and €14m from Madrid.

The Bundesliga giants have been trying to sell the player to Internazionale for €30m but Ozil has his heart set on a move to Madrid.

"We promised (Real Madrid president) Florentino Perez that if Bremen did not let Mesut go now, then next year he would come for free when his contract expires," his father Mustafa told Turkish paper Hirriyet.

"He also knows that our word is sacred and that we thought out things responsibly before deciding this.

"Bremen had an offer of around €30m from Inter and if we had accepted he would be playing there, but my son has always said that the only club he wants to go to is Real Madrid."
