Seppi comes through Moscow test

Italy's Andreas Seppi came through a tough match to beat local hope Igor Andreev in the opening round of ATP Moscow.

Eighth seed Seppi lost the opening set to the world number 115, but hit back to win the second before taking the decider on a tie-break to wrap up a 2-6 6-3 7-6(4) victory.

Russia's Teymuraz Gabashvili restored the spirits of the home crowd, however, beating Slovakia's Karol Beck 6-2 6-4. Gabashvili's win earns him a second-round match against Russian tennis legend Nikolai Davydenko.

Spain's Pere Riba beat Andreas Haider-Maurer 6-2 6-7(1) 6-3 to earn a place in the second round against world number 16 Viktor Troicki.
