Movie stars Hugh Grant and Matthew McConaughey will bring some Hollywood glitz to the October 28-31 event by teeing off in the tournament, organisers said.

The professional segment will involve 20 male and female golfers competing for a winner-takes-all pot of just under $1.3 million (£850,000).

European and United States Ryder Cup captains Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin will also take part along with China's trailblazing professional Zhang Liangwei.

Former women's world number one Annika Sorenstam and South Korea's Pak Se-ri are also among the field.

Twice Open Championship winner Greg Norman, also scheduled to play, and China's multiple Olympic champion gymnast Li Ning will serve as host ambassadors for the event, organisers added.

The event will take place at the new Mission Hills Resort Hainan, a new development on the tropical island which will also host the $7.5m World Cup of Golf in its new biennial format.
