Dutchman Stefan Van Dijk sprinted to glory in the 75th staging of the GP Zottegem.
Van Dijk, riding for Willems Verandas, held off the challenge of Luxembourg’s Jean-Pierre Drucker and local rider Jonas Van Genechten came in third.
The single-day race followed a 192.3km loop from the Belgian city of Zottegem, and the riders set a sharp pace from the off.
Nine riders attempted to break a quarter of the way into the race, but never managed to extend their lead beyond a minute with the peloton watching their progress closely.
Other riders and groups tried their luck, but as the finish line neared it became clear that the winner would come from the bunch, and it fell to 34 year-old Van Dijk to claim his fourth victory of the year.
