Wildcard Kamke knocks out Chela

Seventh seed Juan Ignacio Chela was dumped out of the German Open in Hamburg by Tobias Kamke while fourth seed Mikhail Youzhny reached the last 16.

Russian Youzhny squeezed past Argentine Carlos Berlocq in straight sets 7-5 7-6.

Chela, also from Argentina, was destroyed in the first set 6-1 before the German crowd's favourite Kamke finished the job 6-4 in the second.

Gilles Simon, the French fifth seed, eased past Sergiy Stakhovsky 6-2 6-1.

Two further seeds went out at the second-round stage: 10th-seeded Alexandr Dolgopolov lost in three sets to Jarkko Nieminen 6-3 1-6 6-4 while 14th seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez was beaten 7-6 6-2 by Julian Reister.

Fabio Fognini, the 15th seed, was too good for Victor Crivoi, emerging the victor by 6-1 7-5. Marsel Ilhan beat Philipp Petzschner 6-2 4-6 7-6, Juan Monaco triumphed 6-3 7-5 over Simone Bolelli, Philipp Kohlschreiber defeated Andrey Golubev 7-5 6-3 and Pablo Andujar disposed of Julien Benneteau 6-2 6-2.

In the day's other games, Cedrik-Marcel Stebe dumped out Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-3 6-2, Radek Stepanek won 7-5 7-6 against Andreas Beck and Daniel Gimeno-Traver progressed after Marcel Granollers picked up an injury at a set down.
