De Jong increases lead with win
On-form speed skater Bob De Jong increased his lead at the top of the World Cup standings with gold in the men's 10,000m in Salt Lake City.
The Dutchman beat Seung-Hoon Lee of Korea and compatriot Bob de Vries to clinch victory.
It was De Jong's third straight win after his triumphs in Moscow and Hamar, and his fourth of the season so far.
His lead at the top of the standings is now 174 points with his nearest rival now Havard Bokko of Norway, who finished fifth in the US race.
Marit Leenstra of the Netherlands closed the gap on World Cup leader Christine Nesbitt with gold in the women's 1,500m.
Nesbitt could only manage third place with another Dutch skater Ireen Wust claiming silver. Wust is third overall, 36 points behind Leenstra, who is a further 124 back on Nesbitt.
