League Two - Dagenham appealing keeper red card
Dagenham are to appeal against goalkeeper Chris Lewington's red card in Saturday's 5-0 home drubbing at the hands of Cheltenham.
Lewington was sent off in the 39th minute at Victoria Road having handled the ball just outside his area to deny onrushing Robins forward Josh Low following a headed back pass from defender Scott Doe.
A statement on Dagenham's official website read: "The referee sent the Daggers goalkeeper off for 'denying a goalscoring opportunity' during the first half in the home defeat to Cheltenham.
"John Still and the rest of his managerial team have watched the match DVD closely and feel the decision to send off Chris was incorrect and have therefore decided to lodge an appeal against the decision.
"The Daggers will be couriering written documentation as well as the match video to Football Association officials at Wembley Stadium later today (Monday) to lodge their appeal."
Elsewhere, on-loan defender Exodus Geohaghon has completed his three-month spell with the Daggers, during which he made just two first-team appearances.
