Wolves captain Roger Johnson could earn a recall for Saturday's Barclays Premier League trip to Norwich.
The 28-year-old has not played since Terry Connor took over as manager from Mick McCarthy in February and was fined earlier this month for a breach of discipline when he turned up "unfit to train properly".
Wolves have conceded 14 goals in the four games the central defender has sat out and Ronald Zubar's suspension following his red card in Sunday's 5-0 defeat by Manchester United could open the way for Johnson to return.
Connor told the Express and Star: "He's been there every session, working hard and is ready to go. There's a first time for everything, if it's the first time (I play him).
"He wants to play, he wants to compete, he wants to win and he reminds me of that. He lets me know he's available and that's fine, I've no problem with that whatsoever. His chances of playing are the same as last week and the week before.
"We all know what happened the other week but that was dealt with and Roger has trained really well. He hasn't been a minute's problem to me since."
