60 seconds with Liam Tancock
Eurosport spent 60 seconds in the company of world champion swimmer Liam Tancock and discovered a surprising fascination for David Attenborough.
Who is your sporting hero?
I get asked this quite a lot and I really don't have one. Someone I would love to meet though is David Attenborough. He gets to travel the world and see some amazing things and animals.
If you weren't a swimmer, what would you be doing?
It would still be something to do with sport, although not necessarily the same one, possibly rugby. It would definitely be something outdoors-y though.
If your house was burning down, what one possession would you save?
Are my family in there? OK, assuming my family are safe, I'd probably save my passport so that I could go travelling.
What is on your iPod at the moment?
It's a real mixture really. There's quite a lot of pop, I guess. The album that's been on there the longest is History by Michael Jackson.
Who is your ideal woman?
Someone quite similar to me - outgoing, happy and smiley.
If you could sit down for dinner with any three people, who would they be?
David Attenborough, David Beckham and um, probably Jake Humphrey because he seems fun and he knows a lot about Formula One. I like F1.
What do you get up to in your free time?
Chilling out, catching up with friends or seeing my family, going to the cinema and going out for dinner.
What would the title of your autobiography be?
Something really boring probably like Liam Tancock: My Story.
What is your most annoying habit?
People would probably say it's that I'm happy all the time.
What is the worst music you have ever bought?
I don't really buy any music, I get it from my friends. I can't think of anything I'm embarrassed to admit I have though.
What is the most embarrassing moment you've had in the pool?
I know I'm being boring but I haven't had too many. I can't think of anything that's gone drastically wrong at any point.
Which fellow sportsman or woman would you have the most fun with on a night out?
Caitlin McClatchey. She's a lot of fun and always happy.
If you could advertise one product other than any you are currently representing, what would it be?
Maybe a make of watch or, because I'm a swimmer and we're always washing our hair, some sort of hair-care product.
If you could make one novelty change to your sport, what would it be?
I'd make every one enter the pool in a bomb rather than a dive!
You are promoting the Speedo AquaFit range, tell us a little bit about it.
People think swimming is all about doing laps of the pool and just swimming up and down for the whole session. But it's not just about that. We want to try and get people to view swimming in the same way as going to the gym. The Speedo Aquafit range has different pieces of equipment to use so that people can train different muscle groups and sections of their body.
