Liga - Modest Ronaldo gives self 10/10
Cristiano Ronaldo was typically modest when rating Real Madrid’s performance this season, giving himself a perfect 10 out of 10.
The Portuguese forward - who recently declared he was a better player than Lionel Messi - was asked to assess his team’s campaign, which saw them finally break Barcelona’s domestic dominance but exit the Champions League at the semi-finals stage.
Ronaldo had an incredible season, scoring 46 Liga goals as his side romped to the domestic title with 100 points, while adding 10 more in the Champions League as he hit the 60 mark in all competitions.
But they went out of European contention after a penalty shoot-out to Bayern Munich, who themselves lost the final to Chelsea on spot-kicks, something which makes Ronaldo reluctant to give the team top marks.
"On an individual level I give my season a 10/10, but collectively we are a 9/10 because we want to win more - the Champions League for example," the humble Galactico told Marca.
"We came close this season. Our 10th (European Cup) will come, next year or the year after, but we have to keep calm.
"The Clasico was a factor in our loss to Bayern. It’s never good to play two big matches in succession."
