Silva, 27, has been linked with a move to Manchester City after boss Roberto Mancini was spotted at Milan’s offices this week.

Mancini could just have easily been discussing offloading some of his top-heavy squad to the Italian runners up, and Milan vice president Adriano Galliano insisted that Silva was not up for sale.

"All the big Spanish and English clubs want Thiago Silva," he said. "He’ll stay at Milan though. We’ll resist all temptation - and there are some strong ones.

"All of Europe wants him, including clubs with great financial power. We’ll do everything we can to keep him."

Galliano also confirmed that Maxi Lopez and Alberto Aquilani would not be signed permanently following loan spells from Catania and Liverpool respectively.

He added that Mathieu Flamini had been offered a new deal but that he had not spoken to veteran midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who is expected to leave this summer. Both are out of contract.

Milan are undergoing a rebuilding project this summer, having finished second to Juventus in Serie A.

They have already signed Riccardo Montolivo from Fiorentina and Bakaye Traore from Nice, with veterans Alessandro Nesta, Mark van Bommel, Gianluca Zambrotta, Filippo Inzaghi and Gennaro Gattuso all exiting the San Siro.

Massimiliano Allegri's team are also expected to sign defender Francesco Acerbi from Chievo.
