Rosie Jones, a 13-times winner on the LPGA Tour, has been named skipper of the US team for the 2011 Solheim Cup.
"I am honoured and absolutely ecstatic to be chosen as captain," said Jones who sank the putt which clinched victory in 2002.
"The Solheim Cup has been a huge part of my career as a player and now it will be even more exciting as I prepare for what promises to be another great Solheim Cup in Ireland," she said.
Jones, who is now retired as a player, made seven appearances in the biennial team event. US will be defending the trophy when they take on Europe in September 2011.
