Manager Neale Cooper was in buoyant mood after Ryan Noble blasted Hartlepool's first goal in five games to give them a surprise 1-0 win at Yeovil.
Evan Horwood swung in a 64th-minute free-kick which skimmed off Yeovil's Jonathan Grounds before Noble, playing his second match on loan from Sunderland, reacted quickly and blasted an unstoppable shot from close range past goalkeeper Sam Walker - much to the delight of his manager.
Cooper said: "Ryan has been promising me a goal or two and he duly delivered.
"But we were very fortunate. We knew it would be a difficult game.
"To come here after the midweek disappointment against Oldham was a really hard task.
"We rode our luck as Yeovil could have been two or three up early in the match, and they were one of the best teams we have played recently".
