Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill wants Everton youngster Conor McAleny back at the club next season.
The 19-year-old striker joined the Iron on loan in March but his stay was cut short by a knee injury, and Knill has already contacted Goodison boss David Moyes in a bid to bring him back.
"I spoke to David Moyes about him the other night," Knill told the club's official website.
"It was just to try and gauge what his thoughts about him for next season were.
"He is their player and they will probably want to see what happens to him in pre-season.
"Only then will they decide if they want the younger players to go out on loan or not - but obviously we have registered an interest in him."
