Italian Davide Rebellin, stripped of his Olympic road race silver medal after retrospective tests showed he failed doping checks in Beijing, will make his return from a cycling ban with Andalucia-Caja Granada on Thursday.
The Spanish outfit compete in the second-tier Continental circuit.
"Davide has chosen us," Andalucia-Caja Granada team manager Antonio Cabello was quoted as saying by Italy's ANSA news service on Monday.
"He has ties in Marbella and likes the freedom he will have in the team."
Rebellin, who lost his appeal against a two-year ban last July, is set to compete in this week's Tour of Asturias.
