Leopard Trek top rankings
Leopard Trek claimed top spot in the WorldTour team rankings after the second and third place of Fränk and Andy Schleck in Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
They hold top spot with 503 points. Former leader Team RadioShack is now second, 38 points behind.
“This is really great news for the team and solid proof to us that we’ve been up there in all the big races. That’s what we set out to do and in spite of missing out on that elusive Classics win, we can be happy with our Spring," general manager Brian Nygaard said.
“We can be content by how the team performed during the first important chapter of our maiden year and I know that our riders are hungry for more. The Classics now make room for the stage races, and I’m convinced that we have a lot to look forward to. This first part of the season shows that we are on the right track, heading towards great things for Leopard Trek."
Philippe Gilbert of Belgium is 120 points clear of Fabian Cancellara in the individual standings after his triumph in the Liege-Bastogne-Liege race followed on from victories in Fleche Brabanconne, Amstel Gold Race and Fleche Wallone.
