Balotelli, 19, is on the brink of leaving the Serie A and European champions with the clubs negotiating a fee for the Italy U21 striker.
Despite being one of the brightest prospects in Italian football, Balotelli has been the subject of racial abuse from rival fans and has even angered his own supporters with a perceived petulant attitude.
This led Colombia defender Cordoba, who turns 34 in a fortnight, to suggest that Balotelli should consider leaving the club.
The comments angered the player's representative Mino Raiola.
"Mario has not done anything wrong and has never discussed in public anything about Cordoba," Raiola said.
"Considering that Cordoba is nearly my own age, he should help raise the young players, not attack and envy them.
"If the senior players are set against the young ones then what purpose does that serve to the group as a whole?"
Balotelli will reportedly complete a £30 million move to Eastlands next week, with both clubs set to meet on and off the pitch during a pre-season tour of the USA.
