The United States will head into June's Women's World Cup ranked number one in the world.

Pia Sundhage's side sit atop FIFA's list ahead of Germany, the tournament hosts, and Brazil in third.

Japan and Canada complete the top five, with Hope Powell's England lying in 10th.

Germany will be looking to claim their third successive World Cup title and kick off the tournament on June 26 with a match against Canada in Berlin.
