Cricket-Bad light stops play in first Ashes test

Bad light stopped play midway through the final session on the second day of the first Ashes test between Australia and England at the Gabba on Friday.

Australia were 220 for five, 40 runs behind England's first innings total, when the umpires brought the players off the field at 16:17 local time (0617 GMT).

A heavy shower followed shortly afterwards.
