Ligue 1 - Mangane out for season after knee op
Rennes defender Kader Mangane has been ruled out for the rest of the season following a knee operation last week.
The Senegal international sustained the injury back in September in a Europa League clash with Udinese.
The 29-year-old played on while carrying the injury until earlier this month, but after undergoing surgery he is now targeting a return to fitness in time for the start of next season.
Mangane told the club's official website: "The first days were pretty painful, but now I have less pain.
"I could not give everything. I will be their number one fan.
"Yes, I would have liked to be there. The coach asked me to postpone the operation but if I'm not 100% it's not worth it."
